Jai Prabha Mahila Vikas Kendra was founded in January 1980 by a group of eminent, intellectual, socially aware and conscious ladies aiming for a holistic development of the sections of society who had been left behind in the nation?s march towards progress. This was to be achieved by using the women and children as instruments and harbingers of social change and progress.
Jai Prabha visualises a society of constructive, conscientious and contemporary individuals who can help in the march towards creation of a stronger and better India.

Mission
To initiate and upkeep all round development of the extremely backward and needy population of our society who have been left behind in the nation's march towards progress; by removal of poverty at both economic and psycho-social planes through community based interventional programs, empowerment of women and implementation of child rights.

Action Plan
As the socio-economic ills that we have set about to cure have been found to be interrelated, it is felt that the solutions too must be interconnected at all sectoral and sub-sectoral levels to break the vicious circle of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and the resultant social malaise. The endeavour is to first help the community meet its survival needs and from there take them into a higher dimension of qualitative growth with a concern towards sustainability alongwith preservation of ecological balance. Our Action Plan has, therefore, been based on Jaiprabha Model consisting of Policy Documents in seven core functional areas that we are focusing upon. Accordingly, specific, synergized and actionable interventions have been planned in the areas of
-Health & Sanitation
-Nutrition
-Early Childhood Care & Development
-Education
-Social Awareness
-Livelihood Programs
-Environment.

Products :
We are provided services of social works Health & Sanitation:- -Immunisation of all children and expectant mothers -Regular Health check ups of the community -Creation of PHC awareness -provision of safe drinking water -Promotion of safe sanitary practices including low cost sanitation for every family -Creation of a drainage system in the villages -Development of a waste disposal mechanism -Training of traditional village medical practitioners and mid-wives -promotion of ORT, ARI and preventive medicines -Upgradation of delivery care facilities -Sex education for the adolescents and their families -Promotion of Family planning measures -Curative Intervention in critical cases/epidemics -Prevention of STD and communicable diseases -Promotion of Alternative Medicine Nutrition:- -Awareness about diet constituents:- -Promotion of kitchen gardens -Provision of fruit saplings for all families -Reinforced emphasis on dairy and poultry development -promotion of community fisheries Early Childhood Care & Development:- -Extension of Balwadi facilities for all children in 3-5 age group -Regular home visits by the Balwadi Sevikas to promote health, hygiene and nutritional awareness among parents -Growth monitoring of all children -promotion of wholesome nutritional practices -Promotion of health and hygiene awareness. Education:- -Enrolment of all school age children in some form of educational program with special focus on the girl child -Provision of educational assistance in form of school uniforms, school books and stationeries at concessional rates -To make available to all children access to computers, Science laboratories and well equipped libraries -Affiliation to appropriate Examination Boards -Assistance to children to appear in the Board examinations -Creation of Community Sports Centres -Provision of facilities for extracurricular activities to children -Formation of Youth and Children?s clubs in all village clusters -Erection of children?s parks at vantage locations -Provision of facilities for Vocational trainings for the youth -Development of a modern scientific nationalist curriculum -To develop a basic ethical and moral code of conduct, based on duties and responsibilities towards the society -Introduction of Yoga and meditation classes in the curriculum Social Awareness:- -To use children and women as instruments of change in the social structure through awareness programs -To build and strengthen formal and non formal institutions of families and the community to act as propagators of social reforms -To transform the stakes of children from status of beneficiaries to that of stakeholders in their future through various children?s forums -Training and mass awareness programs for eradication of social evils Livelihood Programs:-Land levelling, contour bunding, wasteland development and social forestry Provision of irrigation facilities through deep wells, canals, check dams, anicuts and weirs, Conservation of rainwater/groundwater, Recharging of natural aquifers, Provision of Agricultural inputs like:- -Seeds -Bio Fertilisers -Organic Pesticides -Equipments (mechanised & non mechanised) Participation in Agricultural Processes through:- -Holding of Awareness and Training Programs -Setting up of Demonstration farms -Creation of a specialist agricultural team for support and assistance -Introduction of soil specific new crops of vegetables, spices, herbs, aromatics plants, fodder, fuel, etc. -Creation and strengthening of institutions like SHG?s for Micro finance Involvement in:- -Agricultural Processing of Cereals/Herbs/ Aromatic produces -Preservation & Storage of food grains -Creation of a marketing network Strengthening of Allied activities of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries through:- -Training & Awareness -Demonstrations -Creation of forward and backward linkages Environment:- -Creation of awareness about various types of conservations -Checking of environmental pollution and polluting agents -Afforestation activities. -Use of bio fertilizers, bio degradable pesticides and other eco-friendly low cost technologies to maintain ecological balance.
