World Data, Inc. Is a 23-year old company providing design, integration, and support services to some of the largest carriers, PTT's, governmental organizations and businesses enterprises worldwide. We are a full-service telecommunications and Internet consulting and engineering firm, headquartered in the Internet and telecom hub of Washington, DC. We conduct business planning and strategic analysis, design, implement and support packet-switched (IP) networks, OSS (operational support systems), and e-business platforms, operating our own IP Network Operations Facility.
The current President and CEO, Oscar Bazoberry founded World Data in 1980 as a software development house. The original focus of the company was on providing customized software and database applications to enterprises to address their operational requirements.
Building upon the success of a number of database projects for clients such as the United Nations, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, the company expanded its portfolio of services in 1986 to include WAN/LAN implementation and desktop publishing. With the introduction of Networking Technologies, World Data began to expand its strategy to assist telecommunications companies as well.
It was in the early 1990's when World Data began to work closely with telecommunications companies (Telecom) and did a variety of projects involving strategy development, systems integration, and network development work with companies like Sprint, Teleglobe, Global One, and smaller regional PTT such as Antelco and Hondutel.
