Our Services: -Chemical testing Capabilities of our Chemical testing lab include both Wet and Instrument Analysis by Optical Emission Spectrography (OES) and Electro-Chemical Analyzer. OES is done by using SpectroLab from Spectro-AI, Germany. Alloys that can be analyzed using SpectroLab are Carbon and Low-Alloy Steels, Stainless Steels, Tool Steels, Other Ferrous-Base Alloys and Aluminum-Base Alloys. The Electro-Chemical Analyzer is used for analysis of Copper-Base Alloys. Typical elements analyzed by Wet analysis include Carbon and Sulphur ( by Strolehin apparatus), Phosphorus, Silicon, Chromium, Nickel, Manganese etc. -Mechanical testing is done to determine physical properties of metals. Equipment for these tests available in the lab include Universal Testing Machine (400 KN capacity), Charpy & Izod Impact Tester, Erichsen Cupping Tester, Brinell Hardness Tester, Rockwell cum Superficial Rockwell Hardness Tester, Vickers Hardness Tester, Microhardness Tester from Shimadzu, Japan (10g to 2 Kg Load) and Poldi Hardness Tester. -Metallography: We have the complete range of equipment for carrying out studies of metallic microstructures. Equipment include those required for microstructure sample preparation like Specimen Cut - Off Machine, Mounting Press, Disc Polishers and instruments for microstructural evaluation like Metallurgical Microscope with Microphotography from Carl Zeiss Jenavert and Microhardness tester from Shimadzu. Typical tests that are carried out include Grain Size measurement, Inclusion Rating, Nodularity and count, Photos of microstructure with comments, Case Depth, Decarburization studies and Microhardness. We also carry out Macroetch tests. -Non-Destructive testing is used for the detection of cracks and irregularities in metals without causing any physical destruction of the component being tested. The term can also be used for other tests which are used to measure parameters without causing any damage to the material. Equipment available in the lab include Ultrasonic Flaw Detector, Dye Penetrants, Magnetic Particle Inspection Equipment ?Bench unit , Prod and Yoke, Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, Elcometer Coating Thickness gauge, Eddy Current Sorter, Surface Roughness tester and Radiograph Interpretation. -Corrosion testing Our Corrosion lab has equipment for Intergranular Corrosion (IGC) Testing. These tests are carried out as per ASTM A262 and include Practice A (Oxalic Acid), Practice B (Ferric Sulfate), Practice C (Nitric Acid) and Practice E (Copper, 24 hours bend only) We also have Salt Spray Chambers, Humidity Chamber and Hot Air Oven. A sensitive, high accuracy weighing balance is available for corrosion evaluation. Elcometer Coating thickness gauge can be used to measure thickness of coatings. -We can carry out testing of Rubber, Plastics, Plywood, Grease, Oils and Paints. Equipment such as Tensile Testing Machine (500Kgf capacity), Shore & Rockwell Hardness Tester, Universal Pentrometer, Melt Flow Index tester, Kinematic Viscometer, Scratch hardness tester, Melting point apparatus, Centrifuge, B4 Cup and Gloss Meter are available and properties like Hardness, Specific Gravity, Compression Set, Flammability, Water Absorption, Flash & Fire Point, Melt Flow Index etc can be determined.
