Pvt. Ltd. Firm Since 1987

Minicom Advanced Systems is a leading manufacturer of innovative KVM switches, AV solutions and Computer Based Training (CBT) systems. Founded in 1987, Minicom began its operations producing advanced solutions for the CBT market. Today, with over 15 years of experience, Minicom is the acknowledged world leader in CBT solutions and sets the standards for the entire industry. In 1997, building on its success in the CBT market, Minicom decided to market its core screen broadcast technology to the KVM switch (keyboard, video and mouse) and A/V splitter markets, in which it has now become a significant player.

Environmental Policy :
Computer Based Training :
Whether hardware or software, Minicom's CBT systems enable instructors to gain complete control over computer classrooms. For over a decade and with over 20, 000 worldwide installations to date, Minicom's classic Classnet has helped teachers create a truly interactive computer learning experience. Today, Minicom's CBT range has expanded to include Classnet Twist Audio, the deluxe, stereo multimedia edition of Classnet, AristoClass 4.0, the leading CBT software, and ClassPerfect, the only CBT system on the market that combines real-time multimedia broadcasting with fully featured CBT classroom control functionality.

KVM Switches :
To succeed in the crowded KVM market, which includes switches and extenders providing keyboard, video and mouse control of distant or remote computers, Minicom aims to produce superior, innovative KVM switches and extenders, which stand out in the crowd. The Company pioneered the use of CAT5 technology in KVM, and the company's distributed CAT5 KVM switches revolutionized the architecture for centralized keyboard, video and mouse control of multiple servers. Customers around the world from standard corporate data center applications to customized integrated KVM systems, use Minicom's CAT5 KVM switches. Its innovative distributed 'daisy chain' architecture is sold in its Phantom line of KVM products. The company has recently completed its KVM switch product line with its new remote access products, the Phantom Dial-Up and the Smart IP Extender.

Audio/Visual Solutions :
Minicom's sophisticated range of AV solutions include video splitters, broadcasters and extenders that help create futuristic visual displays, for applications including RS-232.

Technologies :
Its talented force of R&D specialists has enabled Minicom to make unprecedented technological advances and keep industry heads turning. Minicom was the first company to introduce advanced CAT5 technology to both the CBT and KVM fields. The thin CAT5 cable replaces bulky coax cable, reducing cable clutter, lengthening control and actually costing just 1/8 of the price. Today the company offers the largest selection of CAT5 solutions available anywhere.

Minicom was also the first to come out with revolutionary distributed switching technology, bringing the switch to the computer instead of the computer to the switch. This further eliminates cable clutter. Distributed switch technology was implemented in the first internal PCI card switch, Minicom's Supervisor Phantom. Internal switching saves valuable rack space and avoids the dangers of vandalism or damage.

Most recently Minicom set out to shrink the size of KVM switches, saving customers even more space and streamlining server rooms. The result - the company today manufactures the world's smallest KVM switch: the matchbox sized Specter; as well as a desktop switch, the Smart 2, the size of a deck of cards.

Growth and Development :
These revolutionary technologies have helped fuel Minicom's spectacular development, with an average growth of over 30% each year for the last five years. The company opened up three new regional offices (USA, Switzerland and Italy) in the last two years, and has additional regional offices slated for the near future. A big part of its success comes from its proactive marketing strategy, which has won the company top distributors such as Blackbox Network Services.

Customers :
Leading companies and institutions worldwide, including France Telecom, HP, IBM, JP Morgan, Language Training Canada, Merrill Lynch, Oracle Corp., numerous Government Agencies and Ministries of Education, Sprint Telecom, and the US Army, and the US Federal Government, trust Minicom products to manage their computer facilities and classrooms.

Minicom solutions are ideal OEM add-ons as they enhance the value of existing products, putting the adopting company ahead of competitors. Minicom excels at forging successful partnerships that converge technologies to produce exceptional products. A partial list of companies that have chosen to sign OEM agreements with Minicom includes: Applied Materials, Compaq, Comverse, Elta, Nice, Sony, Tandberg, and many more.

Mission Statement :
Committed to be a source of pride and satisfaction to our employees and maintaining long-term partnerships with our customers and vendors, Minicom's mission is to create and utilize cutting edge technology to design and develop unique quality products that enhance access and interaction in the computer networking environment.
