Q. Why I need a professional DVD author?
A. In our DVD you will get nearly broadcast quality video, subtitles selection option, 5.1 Dolby surround sound, Language selection option, Interactive menus, creative motion graphics and everything else which makes your product best in industry.
Q. What?S so different about subtitles & Language?
A. In general practice to get DVD subtitles & Language versions filmmakers don?T have any other option than get it done on duplicate master copy as super imposed, which is highly unprofessional way to do it. If you have to get one more subtitle in different language than again you have to sit in edit suite and have to re-edit synchronization of subtitles (Same tedious work have to do with language versions). Again you have to keep different copies of subtitles & language versions which is completely a headache if you cater to diversified audience. Here is the solution to all your problems; you can now get DVDs which contains subtitles which are not super imposed means you can turned off subtitles if you understand the language, that?S not all now you don?T have to make different dvds for different subtitles and language version. As an option you can have subtitles in upto 32 language subtitles and 8 audio language tracks which you can select just by a click of a button on your remote. Q. How is your Audio different?
A. Most DVD/VCD makers give you audio which is suitable only for Home Television viewers and frequency which they themselves don?T know. If your product is going to be view in film festivals, Home theatre, projection rooms, seminar rooms then this audio becomes a minus point of your production as it lacks the basic primary requirement of audio amplifiers used today globally. Viewers find it quite disturbing in these environments because they encounter problems like sound not coming out properly and also blank audio region. At Dast we had master the art of sound design. We design your audio to all possible audio standards (5.1 Dolby Digital, Dolby Surround, DTS etc.)
After upgradation your sound does not only meet above all specifications of different environments but also for the upcoming DTH (Direct to Home) services which is compatible with surround sound and for all broadcasting channels. Audio selection feature enable viewer to select audio which meets best his playing environment and playing equipments.

Q. What are Region codes, country codes or zone locks?
A. These are DVD codes to prevent playback of certain discs in certain geographical regions. Each player is given a code for the region it?S sold. The player will refuse to play discs that are not coded for its region. Dast pioneered the art of region encoding and we can deliver you region specific discs with guarantee to play in the geographical region provided by you.

Q. Can you made Hybrid DVD?
A. We say?YES! We make hybrid or say enhanced DVDs which works in both DVD-video players and DVD- Rom (windows and Mac os computers).

Q. What?S WebDvd?
A. WebDvd is the simple but powerful concept of combining DVD content with internet technology. We offers DVD which combines the best of DVD (fast access to high-quality video, audio and data) with the best of the Internet (interactivity, dynamic updates, and communication) containing pages, links, or accessing a website with content from local DVD drive.

Q. What?S widescreen, Can we get 4:3 or 16:9 DVDs?
A. As an option you can get your DVD make in either 4:3 format (standard TV shape) or 16:9 (widescreen). If your production is for widescreen tv, plasma, specifically HDTV, than you must opt for widescreen version.

Q. What?S Interactive menu & chapter selection?
A. Interactive menu is like index of all the contents of the disc. Chapter selection let you select the particular section at the beginning and play, so you don?T need to go through the whole movie.

Q. Did you prevent our DVDs from piracy, and copy protection?
A. Yes, there are many forms of content protection that apply to DVD. It covers encryption, water marking, CSS, macrovision etc.

Q. What about multiple camera angle view?
A. Not many mainstream DVD?S have multiple angles. Since it takes extra work and limits playing time(a segment with two angles uses up twice as much space on the disc) and you have to pre-plan at the time of shoot and edit how many camera angles you want to keep.

Q. When we get system conversion ( like Pal to ntsc, ntsc-e japan, secam) there is loss in quality and tremendous amount of change in colors?
A. This is due to low standard converters without color lock used for converting TV system. We used broadcast quality converters which gives you the same colors as in your original master. The color info we read comply with color correction tools of the most popular post-production suites (Smoke, Fcp, Media 100, Velocity, Matrox, Avid, Pinnacle, Canopus)

Q. Whats Autoplay DVD/VCD?
A. With so many advancement in technology, software used for playing dvds on computers are not able to play all dvds. And like most windows pcs use window media player for playing vcd and dvd, they wont be able to play all dvds accurately and encounter problems like video jitter or sound breaks. Also some people don?T know how to play dvds on computer or they don?T have software for playback. As a solution for these problems, we come up with autoplay DVD/VCD. Now all you have to do is just insert the DVD/CD everything else will happen by its own, computer will start playing the video with appropriate audio settings.
